Saint Nick's Handyman Services was founded in 2024 by Nicholas Sproll and Joe Robins, community members who recognized the need for low cost handyman services dedicated to helping those organizations who help others, coupled with the desire to provide meaningful work for citizens with intellectual disabilities.

Since 1972, Phoenixville Area Community Services has been dedicated to helping people get through difficult or challenging periods in their lives. They are a model for community feeding community. Collaborating with other food pantries and meal providers in the Phoenixville community, they provide our neighbors with dignity, respect and healthy, nutritious foods.

Their “A Simple Gesture” program is a convenient way to donate from your front porch. When you subscribe to the ASG program, you will receive a reusable bag to fill every other month. Their Volunteers will pick up your filled bag and bring it to PACS to be sorted by their team.  

Over the past eight years, Ann’s Heart has opened multiple doors to cultivate welcoming spaces for our community. Their vision of repurposing existing spaces has allowed them to creatively address unmet needs. By partnering with fellow nonprofits and community members, they have been intentional in filling gaps in services without duplication.

For over 40 years, Citizen Advocacy of Chester County has been bringing people who would not ordinarily meet into a relationship with one another. They ask them to spend time together and build trust so that protection, opportunity and action can grow. The impact? A person once isolated now has friends, community life, or even family. The stories are all as unique as the two people in them – and life changing for both.

Founded in 1987, St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter has remained steadfast in its mission: to support families experiencing homelessness. They meet families at one of the most difficult times in their lives, providing the essentials: safe shelter, warm meals, and basic necessities. From there, they walk alongside them, helping them connect with vital resources and set realistic, achievable goals for long-term stability.

SMFS welcome families of all compositions. They are rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, support, and the opportunity to build a better future. They don’t just offer a roof—they offer hope, empowerment, and a chance to rebuild.

From its earliest days as a vaudeville house in the early 20th century to its mid-century transformation into a movie palace, to its current embodiment as home to the best mix of movies and live performance, The Colonial Theatre serves as the center for community events and rental opportunities. Along with its history as the neighborhood nerve center for stage and screen, the Colonial also has a special place in cinematic history thanks to a starring role in the classic film The Blob. The Colonial aims to showcase the transformative power of the arts to enrich lives, connect people, and enhance the cultural and economic vitality of Phoenixville and surrounding communities.

Orion assists individuals and families dealing with poverty, illness and disabilities to move toward a brighter future. They bridge case management, offer a tech resource center, teach kids STEM, tech and reading, and offer an 8-week educational group for single moms.

Better Days Ahead develops good relationships with the homeless in out area, understanding that they are people deserving of dignity and respect. They believe that the better they know a person and their needs, the better they can either assist them directly or refer them to a large network of other local non-profits that can help. From acquiring affordable housing to receiving mental health or addiction recovery treatment, if they can't help, they know someone who can.
